Biography
In the early 60's until the end of his life, my dad practice pottery as a hobby. As a result, ceramics have always been part of my immediate environment. Shortly after my father's death, I decided to take pottery courses at the Centre de céramique Bonsecours in Montreal. Slowly, I reduced my professional activities as a translator to devote more time to pottery that became my full-time occupation. In 2002, I launched my first collection, which has been evolving ever since.
My work is inspired by Japanese pottery influenced by the Zen philosophy. I develop my own glazes and work with terra cotta clay. I combine these to produce dishware with colours, textures and forms that appeal to the senses. I aspire to give my work an air of distinction that comes through the passage of time even though it has just emerged from the kiln.
